30 Levies In Geauga
On November Ballot....
West Geauga High School
Bond Levy One Of Them
I say “NO” on the West Geauga Bond Levy!
West Geauga High School is in trouble. They are facing an almost $200,000 dollar shortfall in their food service department. And how do they respond to this major shortfall? They responded by giving all of their Administrators and Supervisors raises!!!
The West Geauga School Board voted 3-1 Monday, August 23, 2010, to approve a 2 percent raise for administrators and supervisors. The raises are effective retroactively to Aug. 1 for administrators and July 1 for supervisors.
I think we've discussed it ad nauseum," Mrs. Gillmore said. She said the raises should be given.
Ad nauseum??? Sally Gilmore makes me feel “ad nauseum”.
They are constantly complaining about not having enough money, then they admit they are facing a shortage of over $200,000 and then they give themselves raises.
And now, they want a bond levy which will increase my taxes by almost $200.00 a year along with all of the other levies. I could be facing an increase of over $75.00 a month and unlike the “Administrators” and “Supervisors” I won’t be getting a pay increase this year.
AGAIN, I SAY NO ON THE WEST GEAUGA SCHOOL BOND LEVY.
Mary, thanks for your letter.
The majority of the people I talk to share your sentiments about the West G. bond levy and are also soured about the other 29 levies.
I have a question though....why would West G. give their administrators and supervisors raises at the very time they are facing a shortfall and in the worst economic times we have ever seen, then put a levy on the ballot asking the public for more money?
Will most of this money go for raises and benefits for the upper echelon? Where do they get the nerve to do this and then ask the people for more?
SOMETHING DOES NOT SMELL RIGHT!!
Under these circumstances, I agree....THEY DO NOT DESERVE THE BOND LEVY!!
